Selected cases of uncomplicated back pain may be evaluated by telehealth to discuss symptoms, self-care, and treatment options.
What to Expect
Your provider will screen for injury, neurologic symptoms, urinary symptoms, fever, cancer risk, and other warning signs that may require in-person care.
Prescriptions may be sent electronically when medically appropriate. Treatment is based on your individual history and symptoms.
When Telehealth May Not Be Enough
New bowel or bladder dysfunction, saddle numbness, major weakness, severe trauma, fever with severe back pain, or other neurologic red flags require urgent in-person evaluation.
If your provider determines that an in-person examination, testing, imaging, or procedure is needed, you will be directed to appropriate care.
